Liminal Space
In my final piece, I capture the essence of a journey through the liminal space, a realm between two worlds. This space is void of colors, representing a transition, a threshold where transformation occurs.
The main fabric, a vast 10-foot expanse of delicate organza, metaphorically mirrors my 10-month sojourn in Nottingham.
Embroidered contour lines in white, gold, and silver trace the path of my exploration. Gold threads weave the rich heritage of India, while silver lines reflect the innovative spirit of Nottingham.
These threads overlap, illustrating the meeting and exchange of cultures, the intertwining of two distinct yet harmonious narratives.

The embroidery's uneven, smooth textures map out a path that is not always easy, echoing the challenges and triumphs of my journey. Despite its complexities, this path is undeniably beautiful, a testament to growth and discovery. White-on-white stitches embody the purity of this transformative space, with glimmers of gold and silver hinting at the cultural richness that defines my journey.
This piece stands as a poetic testament to the beauty found in between worlds, where the old meets the new, and a new identity emerges.
